\u201cTwende na haraka haina baraka, twende pole pole\u2026tutafika!\u201d: this is our corporate motto. They are not a set of made-up words; on the contrary. This is an African idiom-more specifically Swahili-which translates roughly as follows, “If you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far…let’s go together!”<\/span><\/p>\n

This phrase was not chosen at random, nor was it found on some aphorism page on Google. Venicecom President Pierluigi Aluisio read it on a bus during one of his first volunteer missions to Africa.<\/span><\/p>\n

In fact, since 2004 our company, which has always been committed to ethical business management, has been supporting St. Mark’s Venetian mission in Ol Moran, Kenya.<\/span><\/p>\n

It has now been many years, more than 15, since we began to support the growth and development of the village and its inhabitants.<\/span><\/p>\n

This year, too, we decided to get our hands dirty and get into the field ourselves.<\/span><\/p>\n

Just before Christmas, the President together with 4 other Venicecom Managers, Federica Padrin – Marketing Manager, Nicoletta Panizzolo – HR Manager, Francesca Henke – Reporting & Project Manager and Alessandro Gatto – Chief Operation Officer left to join Don Giacomo, who has been a missionary in Kenya since 2007, at the Saint Mark mission.<\/span><\/p>\n

Goal? A week to experience firsthand the village we support and touch what has been accomplished over the years with the help of Venicecom and all those who work there.<\/span><\/p>\n

The unforgettable experience was yet another confirmation that believing in your local area and investing in people is crucial.<\/span><\/p>\n

This is precisely why we decided to work with them and not for them. It sounds unbelievable, but the perspective changes dramatically. In this way, the residents of Ol Moran and Mbombo actively participated in community building, giving it importance and value.<\/span><\/p>\n

This year, we at Venicecom have decided to donate a large part of our Christmas gift budget to support the construction of the first dormitory block of the “Tumaini Academy” elementary school and guardianship center.<\/span><\/p>\n
